Sushi At Hockerill Anglo-European College

Many Foods are eaten in Japan, most famously sushi. Sushi is a well-known food and is often eaten in England and other countries. We decided to bring this to our school and held a Sushi sale. This involved us making the sushi in our lesson. We made our own tutorial video on how to make sushi with and without a sushi machine.

We then sold our sushi to the other students and teachers in our school. We raised £35 and this was donated to Aid for Japan. Aid for Japan is our charity of choice because they help orphaned children in Japan recover from Natural disasters like tsunamis. We hope to hold more charity events to raise more money for this great cause.

There are also other foods in Japan such as Mochi. Mochi is made of moshigome. Moshigome is a short-grained rice that contains gluten. They are traditionally eaten at new year however they are eaten throughout the year. Mochi is often filled with other foods such as ice-cream, bean paste aned even whole berries.
